Maharashtra Right to Information Act

The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, is a central legislation that empowers citizens to seek information from public authorities to promote transparency and accountability in the working of the government and other public bodies. The Act is applicable to the state of Maharashtra as well. The Maharashtra government has also framed its own rules for the implementation of the RTI Act, known as the Maharashtra Right to Information Rules, 2005.
